LALIGA and the National Council for Sport, Physical Education and Recreation (CONDEPOR) of Honduras have successfully concluded all three phases of a landmark coach education programme, further solidifying the partnership between both institutions and reaffirming Honduras’ commitment to developing and professionalising its football ecosystem.
Held between September and October, the initiative featured three intensive four-day training courses that brought together more than 120 coaches from across Honduras. Participants included former national team managers, ex-international players, and academy coaches from various regions, all of whom received both theoretical and practical instruction based on the renowned LALIGA Methodology.
The programme has enjoyed strong institutional backing from the Honduran government since its inception. Notably, the sessions were attended by Minister of Sport Mario Moncada and President Xiomara Castro, whose presence underscored the national significance of the project. Both leaders reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting sports development as a tool for education, inclusion, and youth empowerment.
During their visits, President Castro and Minister Moncada expressed satisfaction with the project’s impact and confirmed plans to continue collaborating with LALIGA. Their shared objective is to expand efforts in coach education, infrastructure development, and the professionalisation of football across Honduras.
Officials highlighted the initiative as a key pillar of the country’s sports development strategy — one that has already seen significant investment in pitch construction, facility upgrades, and technical education to create long-term opportunities for young players and coaches alike.
Throughout the three phases, LALIGA’s team of experts provided advanced training in tactical planning, team management, leadership, and educational values — all designed to strengthen local coaching expertise and promote a sustainable model for nurturing talent. Feedback from participants and CONDEPOR was overwhelmingly positive, praising both the quality of instruction and the programme’s practical relevance to the Honduran football landscape.

The completion of this project marks a milestone in international sports collaboration, standing as a model for knowledge exchange and grassroots development. Both LALIGA and CONDEPOR have expressed their intention to continue this partnership through new joint initiatives aimed at strengthening football education and expanding opportunities for the next generation of Honduran players and coaches.
