Andy Robertson Destroys Liverpool in Three-Minute Tirade

October 26, 2025

Liverpool vice-captain Andy Robertson didn’t hold back in his assessment following the Reds’ 3–2 loss to Brentford, admitting the team lacked shape, discipline, and execution under Arne Slot’s game plan.

Speaking in a blunt post-match interview with LFC TV, the Scotland international described the performance as “not good enough,” insisting the players failed to adapt to the manager’s tactical approach.

Robertson, who started the match on the bench, watched as Liverpool’s defensive fragility was once again exposed early on. Dango Ouattara opened the scoring for Brentford inside five minutes, setting the tone for a difficult evening in west London. Just before the break, Kevin Schade doubled the home side’s advantage with a smart finish, leaving the reigning Premier League champions chasing the game.

The visitors momentarily rallied after halftime when Milos Kerkez pulled one back to give hope of a comeback. However, Brentford’s relentless pressure paid off once again when Igor Thiago coolly dispatched a penalty just past the hour mark to restore their two-goal cushion.

Although Mohamed Salah grabbed a late strike to make it 3–2, it wasn’t enough to salvage a point as Brentford held firm for a deserved victory. The result condemned Liverpool to their fourth straight league defeat, a run they haven’t endured this early in a season since 1993–94.

Reflecting on the loss, Robertson was visibly frustrated, emphasizing that the team didn’t stick to the structure Arne Slot had planned. “We didn’t follow what we were supposed to do,” he said. “There was no real shape out there, and when that happens, you get punished. We have to take responsibility — it simply wasn’t good enough.”

With pressure mounting and performances dipping, Liverpool now face a crucial period to rediscover their rhythm before their title hopes slip further away.
